Using an under-relaxed cooling algorithm we investigated the vacuum in the 2d O(3) model and 4d pure gauge SU (2). We calibrated the amount of cooling performed to have similar physical effect at different lattice spacings.
متن کاملCooling and the SU(2) instanton vacuum.
We present results of an investigation into the nature of instantons in 4-dimensional pure gauge lattice SU(2) obtained from conngurations which have been cooled using an under-relaxed cooling algorithm. We discuss ways of calibrating the cooling and the eeects of diierent degrees of cooling, and compare our data for the shapes, sizes and locations of instantons with continuum results. In this ...
متن کاملInstanton size distribution in O(3).
We present calculations of the size distribution of instantons in the 2d O(3) non-linear σ model, and briefly discuss the effects cooling has upon the configurations and the topological objects.
متن کاملAbsolute Pore Size Distributions from Nmr
NMR measurements on core samples saturated with brine returns valuable information on the porous structure of the rock core. Monitoring a single fluid component in a relaxation experiment reflects the pore size distribution and thus the degree of sorting of the porous rock. The basic assumptions are that the mobility of the component confined in the porous rock is of such a value that a small f...
متن کاملInstanton Contribution to Polarized and Unpolarized Gluon Distributions in Nucleon
The contribution of the anomalous quark-gluon interaction induced by instantons to the polarized and unpolarized gluon distributions in nucleon is estimated. It is shown that this interaction leads to negative gluon polarization in nucleon.
